ppnotes, accuracynotes, etc.

Continued from Discussioni utente:Gkx:
The parameters ppnotes, accuracynotes, etc. are a my idea: instead of writing, for example, |power={{tt|50|80 dalla terza generazione}} you simply write |power=50|powernotes=80 dalla terza generazione. --Qwilava

Okay, made it that way. I'm still quite confused about the “della”, “nalla” and “alla”, so if I got them wrong tell me :) --[⁄⁄⁄] En‐Cu‐Kou 14:28, 3 set 2011 (CEST)
Actually the only parameter really needed is ppnotes; this happens due to our template having an expr function to set ppmax value, that causes an error if entered something different from numbers.--Maze (Discussione) 16:23, 4 set 2011 (CEST)
“Dalla” A “alla” Z in English mean from A to Z; “dalla” is similar to since (dalla prima generazione = since the first generation); “della” instead means of.
  • Azione (mossa) (edit) infobox: Parametro del template accuracynotes: valore giusto 95 dalla prima alla quarta generazione, valore errato 95 prima della quinta generazione
So, in this case, say 95 dalla prima alla quarta generazione (95 from the first to the fourth generation) or 95 prima della quinta generazione (95 before the fifth generation) is the same thing. --~ Matteo 22:54, 4 set 2011 (CEST)

Move targets

Continued from Discussioni_utente:Gkx:
Ventagliente (mossa) infobox: In template parameter target: Expected 'all', got 'adjacentfoes'. This line seems to be uncorrect, as many sites, veekun included, write the target as Adjacentfoes, not all. --Qwilava

Right, I gave the wrong name in these cases. Thanks for the catch. --[⁄⁄⁄] En‐Cu‐Kou 14:28, 3 set 2011 (CEST)

Move abbreviations

The database has some shortened names of moves (Att. Rapido, Sottomiss., Teletraspor., …). I haven't seen these on the Wiki at all, but I'm sure they're ripped from some games. Were they used in previous generations or something? I think Pokémon Central should mention that, and make redirects. --[⁄⁄⁄] En‐Cu‐Kou 14:28, 3 set 2011 (CEST)

Yes, the shortened names are from the games. however, only Movimento Sismico (Mov. Sismico) and Ombra Notturna (Ombra Nott.) have redirects and I personally don't know why.--Qwilava [rispondimi] 14:38, 3 set 2011 (CEST)
I'll leave the list as it is then; when it's fixed I'll correct the names and check the redirects. --[⁄⁄⁄] En‐Cu‐Kou

Template?

Wow, all the pretty colors!

Maybe it would be better to do this with a template? Then I wouldn't have to do any translating in the script, and it would be easier for other-language wikis to use it.
I was thinking about something like this at Template:dbreport:

[[{{{2}}}]] <tt>{{{3}}}</tt>: {{ #switch:{{{1}}}
|head=:Controllo del riporto di {{{site}}}
:Revisione {{{wiki revision}}}

Questo riporto segna gli:
* Errori ed omissioni nello script del check
* Errori nel database
* Errori nel wiki
|nopage=Pagina assente
|total=:{{{num}}} errori trovati
|ignored=:{{{num}}} errori aspettati ignorati
|???
}}

And the list would then look like this. Hopefully still easy enough for people to find and remove lines:

* {{dbreport|diff| Aerasoio (mossa) | infobox | target | adjacentfoes | foes }}
* {{dbreport|extr| Aeroattacco (mossa) | infobox | mtxd | yes }}
* {{dbreport|dupl| Aeroattacco (mossa) | infobox | na | no }}
* {{dbreport|extr| Affannoseme (mossa) | infobox | 1 |  }}
* {{dbreport|miss| Affannoseme (mossa) | infobox | appeal | 2 }}

I don't have a way to test it so there's probably a bug in there. Would it possible to get template editing permissions so I can get it to work?

Also, there's no need to edit the whole list to use the template; the script needs to be able to do that automatically :) --[⁄⁄⁄] En‐Cu‐Kou 16:12, 4 set 2011 (CEST)

Only administrator can create or edit templates... But you can create a user page and use it as a template. (Instead of {{dbreport}} you should use for example {{User:En-Cu-Kou/Template}}. Do you understand? --~ Matteo 18:07, 4 set 2011 (CEST)
That'll work. Thanks! --[⁄⁄⁄] En‐Cu‐Kou 18:38, 4 set 2011 (CEST)

Correct lines

  • Giratina (edit) infobox: Parametro del template sconosciuto: <!-- Non correggere con abilità2 --> abilitàd=Telepatia

"Non correggere con abilità2" means "Don't replace with abilità2"; it's just a warning for whoever might want to do so, as "abilità2" it's the italian translation of "ability2", used in the former line of that page's template, and PokemonInfobox parameters are in italian. Moreover it's hidden ;).--Maze (Discussione) 00:47, 5 set 2011 (CEST)

✔ Noted --[⁄⁄⁄] En‐Cu‐Kou 01:45, 5 set 2011 (CEST)

"10 dalla terza generazione" means "10 from generation III onwards", so the wiki's right because PP were raised from 10 to 20 in IV gen, that is that in gen III only the move had 10 PP. Of course, the same applies for maxpp.--Maze (Discussione) 20:33, 12 set 2011 (CEST)

OK, hopefully that cleared my della/alla/nalla confusion enough :) --[⁄⁄⁄] En‐Cu‐Kou 13:01, 14 set 2011 (CEST)

the parameter for super contest appeal is "appealsc", even if the move didn't exixt in gen III. And never mind if there's a missing "appealsc=0", cause the template value is set to 0 by default.--Maze (Discussione) 22:54, 12 set 2011 (CEST)

✔ Okay. There are a lot of appeal parameters for Gen. IV moves, that threw me off. --[⁄⁄⁄] En‐Cu‐Kou 13:01, 14 set 2011 (CEST)

Order

Seeing how people use the list, I've reordered it according to the parameter instead of page name. Hopefully it's more useful now. --[⁄⁄⁄] En‐Cu‐Kou 16:52, 14 set 2011 (CEST)

report

Hey, is this still a thing? I see no progress has been made in the last year(s), but now that MediaWiki allows Lua scripting (via Scribunto) I have a few ideas for an EP-shared database for Pokémon data. If you're still interested, please reply here (or on my talk page) so we can work something out :) --Gkx (discussioni) 16:26, 5 ott 2013 (CEST)

Ah, sorry; I got a job since then and had to scale down my pokédex-related activities. I'm still able to export the veekun database into whatever format necessary.
I see many things have changed in that time. I fixed the script to work with the new MediaWiki version and re-ran it. Apparently the pokémon infobox is getting more Italian-named parameters :)
Oh, and as a precaution: the Generation 6 games are encrypted, so we can't extract data from them automatically. Veekun will probably ask people to contribute data, which means it will be less reliable for the upcoming games. [⁄⁄⁄] En‐Cu‐Kou (discussioni) 13:42, 6 ott 2013 (CEST)
